Secret Phantoms
It's that time of year again, Christmas...
We here at Tragic Love thought It might be fun to do a "Secret Santa" type game for the month of december.
New to the Secret Santa concept? Our particular incarnation "Secret Phantom" Is fairly simple, you fill out the form below, and at the end of November you'll be sent the name of someone else who wants to play the game. For the month of December it's your job to spoil them rotten. For those of you who don't make graphics and feel a little daunted, don't. Spoiling doesn't nessacarily mean making bunches of stuff *though for those of you who DO graphics, it's always a plus!* Spoiling could mean sending them a card a few times a week, or spending some of your personal time searching the internet for adoptables that you think they might like.
You're going to set up a secret page for the person you're spoiling, to showcase all the gifties you've made/found for them and sometime between Christmas Eve and New Years you must send your spoilee the address so they might enjoy them. You must also make them a personalized christmas card that is the size of one of our actor/character cards *help will be provided for those who can't make them* Easy Peasy right?
Rules and Regulations:
1. set up a secret address *a.k.a. phantomshelper@yahoo.com or something*
2. Set up an anonymus site/page where you can store all the things you've collected/made for the big unveiling.
3. Contact your person at LEAST once a week
Guidelines
Here are just a few tips to make things a little easier
1. Use yahoo or hotmail for your secret account since they are really easy to get.
2. Use angelfire or geocities to set up your pages, they are great freeware sites with page builders to help those who don't know too much about coding
3. use a free graphics site for your secret pages, you don't have to make them yourselves, and alot of places have nice holiday themed backgrounds and such that don't require alot of codding We don't require your secret page to have a holiday themed backrgound or whatnot, but it's recomended.
4. Contact your spoilee and get to know them a little better, ask them questions from time to time, that way you can find/make things for them you think they'll really like, and they'll appreciate the time you're investing
Ideas
Those who make graphics:
Scout their site and make them things you don't see them having but think that they'd want *i.e. some avatars, a new layout, some funky little graphics for the site* One year I had a secret santa who make me a killer Collin Firth desktop, and one year when I was a part of Into the Gate and totally crazed with Daniel Jackson, my secret santa made me a completely personalized non-tradeable card set with pics of Daniel she thought i'd like, complete with a mastery badge
Those who can't:
Find some cool personalized adoptibles that you think they'd like, write them a poem. Last year before she closed down that part of her site, I sent all my spoilee's a personalized doll from Louises Lodge and i'm always getting some cute adoptibles from around the web. When it get's closer to spoil time i'll compile a list of sites that might help
